I never realized about being Celebrity by joining social media network. But, I have to agree with you about that.

I try to find my name and wow, I found 12K result on google.com :D. I don't know if this because I join so many social media out there. :D

Am I a celebrity? Not, Yet, not like you :)

Social media celebrities, just like any celebrities, are just people. It's important to find the ones who are genuinely interested in your projects versus those who will just use you as a stepping stone to their next big thing.

BTW, these principles do not just apply to people wanting to submit content and get active in a community. For example, a shoe maker would be smart to ask the Manolo at shoeblog.com to review their shoes. Can't get the Manolo's attention? Just Google "shoe blog" and you'll find a host of shoe blogs eagerly awaiting free shoes to review.

Overall, this is an interesting take on this subject.

Michelle Greer

True, true, and TRUE. The greatest thing about connecting with most social media people is that they like connecting with new people. They are social. All it takes is a "Hey, I'm a big fan of X that you wrote, what do you think about Y" and they will generally talk your ear off.

Keep up the great writing.
